FIREFIGHTERS helped to rescue two seagulls caught in netting.

Just before 1.30pm today firefighters from Dorchester were called to the Santander building in Dorchester.

They were requested to help the RSPCA to rescue two seagulls that had got trapped in netting on the roof.

The fire crews used a triple extension and roof ladder to gain access to the rear of the building.

Crews then worked from the flat roof at the rear of the property to cut away the netting.

Using special RSPCA net firefighters managed to rescue both seagulls.
