BAD driving was targeted in a day of action in North Dorset following community concerns.
Dorset Police’s ‘No Excuse’ officers caught motorists flouting the law during a targeted operation on the A350 from Poole to Shaftesbury.
It was in response to public concerns over the bad and inconsiderate driving along the A350.
Of the 57 motoring offences detected, officers found 24 examples of drivers or passengers not wearing seatbelts and issued fines.
A total of 13 motorists were caught speeding and those exceeding the education disposal thresholds have the option of a court hearing or a £100 fine and three penalty points on their licence.
Officers also handed tickets to 12 drivers caught while using a hand-held device.
Deputy North Dorset Inspector Ken Morgan said: “We are aware of the concerns of local residents and we have taken a robust approach through this ‘No Excuse’ day of action.”
