A WEYMOUTH netball team raised £700 for the Will Mackaness Trust by hosting a charity fashion show.

WeySports Netball Club organised the event in the Will Mackaness Hall at Wey Valley School and more than 100 people attended. The Will Mackaness Trust helps young people experience water activities by providing financial support.

It was set up in 2008 following the death of the former head boy of The Wey Valley School and Sports College, Will Mackaness, a keen sportsman who died of a brain tumour.

The fundraiser took place as part of the ‘21 for Will’ events which will be taking place in the year following his 21st birthday. The fashion show was presented by Travelling Trends, a Hampshire-based company which provides high-street branded clothes for charity events.

Evangeline Barret from Blondz in Weymouth styled the hair of each of the models and local indie band Peacock Suit played after the catwalk finished.

Will’s mum and trustee Pam Govier said: “ What a great night, not only did everyone have a fantastic time but so much was raised for the trust.

“My thanks to everyone involved, you all worked so hard to make it the success it was.”
