CAMPAIGNERS fighting to keep Dorset County Hospital’s pathol-ogy services in Dorchester are hoping to enlist the support of doctors.

Members of the Dorset Health Campaign are writing to GPs across South and West Dorset in the next stage of their campaign against what they see as the privatisation of the pathology lab.

Doctors are being asked to have copies of a petition displayed at their reception desks so people visiting their surgeries can pledge their support for the campaign.

Supporter of the group Lee Rhodes said “With the campaign having gained over 4,000 signatures, we thought it was time to ask GPs to help us in our fight to keep the NHS publicly owned. “We want to ensure that all residents across West and South Dorset get the chance to support this campaign and tell hospital managers that we don’t want their privatisation.”

The campaign has already been in town centres across the county but wants to gain support from GPs to add pressure on the hospital management.
