A CAR was damaged in an alleged arson attack in Weymouth.
Police today appealed for witnesses about the fire last month, details of which have just been released.
The car, a green Ford Focus, was reported to be on fire at around 4.17am on Friday, June 27 in a communal car park in Douglas Road.
PC Andrew Thomson said: “This was a very upsetting incident for the victim and caused a significant amount of damage to the car.
“I urge anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time to come forward.
“Any witnesses or anyone with information are should contact the police as soon as possible.
“All calls are treated in the strictest confidence.”
A 33 year-old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of arson and has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 27:45.
