A new music festival was definitely good enough for those enjoying the fun.

The Jurassic Fields Festival at Asker Meadows in Bridport attracted a crowd of more than 1,000 people and organisers are keen to run it again.

Headline act Dodgy, whose hits from the 1990s include ‘Good Enough’ and ‘Staying out for the Summer’, performed alongside the likes of The Rising, Vanilla Radio and Jonathan Cotton while local band The Leggomen headlined the acoustic stage.

Other acts performing over the day included The Transitions, The Mutter Slater Band, Funky Munks and Shelby’s Elbow.

Scott Morris, who organised the festival with Daniel Broom, said he was delighted with how the event had gone as families flocked to enjoy the fine weather, music and great entertainment on offer.

He said: “It was a great success, we had a great turn out and there was a real family feel.”

There were also plenty of laughs to be had at the festival’s comedy cavern, where a host of comedians performed throughout the day including headline act Joel Dummett.

The event was a real family affair with plenty of entertainment and workshops aimed at a younger audience as well as a kids’ fun fair to keep children occupied throughout the day.

Mr Morris said: “There were lots of kids enjoying themselves and that’s what we wanted to have. There as a real family feel in the afternoon and then at night when Dodgy were playing it was a great crowd.”

He said that the headline act had gone down a treat with the revellers.

Mr Morris said: “They went down really well, everyone was talking about them.”

He said that all the other acts had also been really well received as festival goers enjoyed the range of music on offer.

Mr Morris said that the resounding success of the first festival had given them a taste for more and they were hopeful of organising another event next year.

He said: “We would love to do it again next year.”
