THE FRIENDSHIP Club will be thanking those who have gone above and beyond to help support its project at an awards ceremony in Weymouth.
The event is at New Vic in Weymouth from 7pm tonight, with a disco after the ceremony.
The Friendship Club is part of People First Dorset and is a user-led group organising social events open to all adults with learning difficulties.
Mayor of Weymouth and Portland Kate Wheller, who has chosen the Friendship Club as her mayoral charity for the year, will be attending the awards ceremony.
Laura Kerr, who runs the club, said: “We felt it was important to publicly acknowledge some of our incredible volunteers and thank them.
“The club would not happen without them and we wanted to show our appreciation for all their time, hard work and loyalty.”
