YOUNGSTERS will be creating their very own dinosaur mosaic at two special workshops this summer.

The Dorset County Museum is hosting the Brickosaur Workshops on Tuesday, August 12 and Wednesday, August 20 in its Victorian Gallery for children aged between five and 11.

The sessions are being run by Lego professionals Bright Bricks and will be led by Ed Diment, who will help the children create a giant mosaic of a Megalosaurus out of Lego bricks.

The sessions are being organised by the Jurassic Coast Museums Partnership.

Dorset County Museum director Jon Murden said: “These sessions will be great fun and are an opportunity to work as part of a group on a much larger scale project than you can at home.”

When the mosaics are finished, youngsters will be able to get a bird’s eye view of their work from the Dorchester Gallery above.

After each session the children will also be given their very own Megalosaur model to build at home.

The workshops cost £10 per child and each child must be accompanied by an adult.

Two sessions will be held on each day, from 10.30am to 12noon and from 1.30pm to 3pm.
