A YELLOW weather warning has been issued for Dorset on Saturday.

Following hot and humid conditions this week, the county could be in for a hammering with heavy rain predicted across the weekend.

The Met Office has issued a heatwave warning for some parts of the UK, including the south east, with temperatures hitting the low 30s and aight time temperatures set to stay above 20.

People are being urged to take care in the heat, drink lots of cool drinks and keep an eye on friends and neighbours who may need help.

However, the heat could turn into stormy conditions over the weekend.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Saturday, with heavy and thundery showers expected to develop across the South.

Where the showers form, there is expected to be torrential downpours, lightening, hail and strong winds.

The Met Office has warned that ‘significant’ flooding is possible.

A spokesman from the Met office said: “Following a build of very warm and humid air from mid-week onwards there is the potential for the development of large thunderstorms over the UK from Friday night.

“In this situation large amounts of energy are available in the atmosphere and this coupled with high moisture content can lead to torrential downpours along with frequent lightning activity, large hail and locally strong gusts. In this situation many elements need to come together at the same time to form these thunderstorms and so there remains large uncertainty in their development.”

Currently there are no Flood Warnings or Alerts in place from the Environment Agency for Dorset’s rivers and streams.

Send us your stormy weather pictures this weekend – but please remember to always be safe and take care.

There is also potential for storms tonight (Thursday) which are currently brewing up over the Bay of Biscay. The weather models have missed this development and therefore the weather forecasters are not reporting on it yet.

You muppet. You would be the first one to scream and shout if we had a lot of rain in the night that ruined your property either by flooding or lightening bolt hitting your house and blowing up your TV or precious computer, so that you could not put your stupid comments on these pages.

If you don't like the story, don't read the thing, but in the meantime, get back in your pram and stop throwing out the dummy.

You have got 6 minus's on your post because what you say is stupid. I elected not to mark you up or down because of this comment, but i suspect from this post, you will get the idea of where my markings for your post lie.
