A holiday park has donated hundreds of pounds worth of children’s toys, games and books to the Salvation Army.

The Cove Holiday Park in Portland, which has been under new ownership since January this year, decided to donate the goods to the local Salvation Army after clearing out storage space.

Jo Peters, Estate Manager for Cove Holiday Park, said: “We continue to support various local charities and wanted to donate the new toys and games we had inherited since acquiring the park to a local charity.

“We hope the children who receive them will have lots of fun playing with them!”

Ted Winter, a volunteer at the Salvation Army Shop in Easton, Portland, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Cove Park, we always welcome donations of saleable items and the brand new toys Jo and the team have donated will be sure to assist us in our work for the local community.”

Although the children’s toys have been donated, the holiday park still has items they would like to donate.

Ms Peters said: “We still have various items of crockery which require a new home, so please get in touch if you think they will be of some use to a charity or organisation you represent”
