HARRIET Smith, from Bridport, right, was one of more than 135,000 students around the world who received their International Baccalaureate diploma results.
And celebrations were in order as she scooped the top score at her school - Sherborne School for Girls.
The group of U6 girls at the school had been studying the diploma programme for two years, and they received their results ahead of their A Level colleagues meaning many of them can now confirm their university places.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) qualification offers an alternative route to traditional AS or A Levels.
Founded in 1968 and increasing in popularity in schools across the UK, the challenging course requires students to study six subjects, which usually include English, maths, a science, a humanities subject, a language and an art subject - as well as a core of activities which include an extended essay and a creativity, action and service module.
