Quicksand victim freed in Purbeck
A man who got stuck in quicksand and then became lost after freeing himself was plucked to safety by Portland Coastguard’s rescue helicopter.
Shortly before 3pm on Sunday, Swanage Coastguard rescue officers were tasked to assist a man stuck in mud at Littlesea, Studland.
He managed to free himself before being airlifted.
