ENTRIES to this year’s Tourism Awards across the South West have hit new records, with more than 370 entries already received – including over 65 into the Dorset Tourism Awards.

Numbers are expected to grow further, as organisers announce a later deadline for several categories that can be judged later.

This includes Dorset entrants for Tourism Entrepreneur, Outstanding Customer Service and Tourism Event categories who have until August 31. The awards celebrate excellence in tourism across the South West and aim to promote and reward leading businesses and individuals in the industry, whatever their sector and size.

They are free to enter and all entrants receive feedback. Andrew Alder, partner at Saffery Champness, the Dorset Tourism Awards’ headline sponsor, said: “We are delighted to hear that the awards have attracted more interest and entries than ever.

“It’s really satisfying to know that businesses in the region’s tourism industry want to play their part and seek recognition for their achievements.

“We’re particularly excited about the new Tourism Entrepreneur category for this year’s Dorset awards.”
