ORGANISERS are on the hunt for three Dorset business start-ups who would like a free pitch at this year’s County Show.

This year’s show takes place on September 6 and 7.

Dorset County Show secretary, Sam Mackenzie-Green said: “The show welcomes 55,000 visitors from the local area every year and we are told time and time again by exhibitors what a fantastic business platform it provides.

"Last year, we offered apprentices the chance to showcase their talent at the show. This year, we are opening the opportunity up to start-ups who need the exposure but may have limited budgets.

"The business must in some way have country show appeal so it could be associated with clothing design, food and drink, ceramics, horticulture, animal displays, livestock breeding or rural crafts.

"The only stipulation is that it must have been started within the last 18 months and must be based in Dorset.”

In order to be considered, businesses will need to complete an entry form, explaining why they think their business will benefit from a presence at this year’s Dorset County Show. Entries must be submitted by the closing date of August 15.

The entries will be judged by members of the Dorset County Show Committee. Winners will be announced on Friday, August 22. To enter, visit dorsetcountyshow.co.uk/page/dorsets+best+business+start+ups
