AS part of Bridport's commemoration of the centenary of the First World War, there will be a parade to St Mary’s Church led by the Dolphin Band followed by a Civic service at 11am on Sunday, August 3.

At 2.30 p.m. there will be a concert entitled 'Lest we forget' featuring local musicians and others recreating the mood of Bridport in August 1914.

On the centenary of the outbreak of war on August 4 there will be a vigil at the war memorial from 10.30pm until 11pm.

St.Mary's bells will be ringing until a few minutes before the hour when all the names of those who fell in the war will be remembered.

There are exhibitions in the church throughout August and a special Book of Remembrance will be available for signing for those who have lost loved ones in this and other conflicts.
