A SOCIAL group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people has set up a new website to help visitors to Weymouth enjoy their time here.
The Weymouth Gay Group is keen to promote LGBT events in the town and showcase how much is going on.
A spokesman for the group said: “Weymouth needs to catch up with seaside towns like those in Devon and Bournemouth, but Brighton may be difficult – it leads the way.
“The pink pound is up for grabs – and why should not Weymouth market itself as a more LGBT friendly place than it has been perceived in the past.”
He added:“We are now blessed with a gay bar in Weymouth, The Closet, which is thriving.”
The Weymouth Gay Group has been meeting up in local pubs for over seven years and welcomes local and visiting LGBT and straight people to its informal social gatherings. The new web page is weymouthgaygroup.weebly.com
