A MAN required assistance after collapsing on the beach at Lulworth Cove.

South West Ambulance Control asked Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team to help locate the 40-year-old at around 1.26pm on Sunday.

The man was found following a short search.

He was carried back to the road where a waiting ambulance took him to hospital for treatment.

Earlier that day, Sidmouth Inshore LifeBoat House received a report of three people trapped on a landfall east of Sidmouth.

The incident was reported at around noon. Portland Coastguard and Sidmouth Coastguard Rescue Officers investigated.

The Coastguards located the party and established that all was well.

Elsewhere, a small boat with five people on board was seen sinking in Mudeford Run.

Mudeford RNLI Inshore Lifeboat witnessed the incident at around 4.30pm whilst returning from an exercise.

The Lifeboat recovered everyone from the water, returned them to the Lifeboat House and then recovered the vessel.

St John Ambulance checked everyone over and one member of the party required further treatment from an ambulance.

Meanwhile, an eight-year-old boy was successfully reunited with his parents after briefly losing contact with them.

A member of public reported the boy had lost contact on Preston Beach, Weymouth, at around 2.35pm.

Wyke Coastguard Rescue Officers proceeded to search for the parents and Dorset Police officers were dispatched to collect the boy.

The family were later successfully reunited.

Further along the coast, a 25ft yacht suffered steering failure just outside Poole Harbour.

The yacht, named Spindrift, had two people on board at the time.

Poole RNLI Lifeboat responded to the incident at around 3.48pm, towing the yacht safely into Parkstone Yacht Club.
