POLICE in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses after a 25-year-old man was assaulted in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The incident happened at 1.20am on Saturday morning, when the man was attacked by two other men on St Thomas Street near the Crown Hotel.

The victim was taken to Dorset County Hospital as he sustained injuries to his head which required stitches.

Detective Constable Sarah Desmond, of Weymouth CID, said: “The offenders may have driven away in a light coloured BMW with tinted windows.

“They have been described as of Asian appearance, between 18 and 20 years of age and around five foot six inches tall. They both have dark hair and one of the men is of skinny build and was wearing a dark grey hooded top and dark trousers.

“I would urge witnesses and anyone with information about those responsible to contact Dorset Police as soon as possible.”
