TWO men needed hospital treatment after separate attacks in Weymouth and Dorchester.

In the county town incident, a 51-year-old local man required surgery after being assaulted in the Borough Gardens early last Thursday evening.

The victim suffered ‘significant facial injuries’ in the assault which happened at the toilets near the cafe. The offender is described as white, in his late teens to early 20s, of medium build and with fair hair.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old local man suffered head injuries after being assaulted near the Crown Hotel in St Thomas Street, Weymouth. This attack took place in the early hours of Saturday.

Detective Constable Sarah Desmond, of Weymouth CID, said: “The offenders may have driven away in a light coloured BMW with tinted windows.

“They have been described as of Asian appearance, between 18 and 20 years of age and around five feet six inches tall.

“They both have dark hair and one of the men is of skinny build and was wearing a dark grey hooded top and dark trousers.”

Witnesses and anyone with any information about either of the incidents should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 31:440 for the Dorchester assualt.

Incident number 2:41 should be quoted for the Weymouth incident.
