THE A354 Weymouth Way has reopened following a car crash.

A two-vehicle collision happened close to the Manor Roundabout near Morrisons this morning at around 9.30am.

It involved a black Renault Clio registered to a man from Weymouth and a grey Fiat Punto registered to a woman from Weymouth.

An ambulance was called to accident and three casualties were treated for minor injuries on the scene.

Authorities closed the road between Manor Roundabout and Chafey's roundabout in both directions as they recovered the vehicles, leading to traffic tailbacks on the surrounding roads.

It remained closed for almost an hour and drivers were urged to find alternative routes and to avoid the area.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "The incident was reported to us at 9.35am by the ambulance service.

"It was a two vehicle road traffic collision, and the injuries appear to not be serious.

"Police units have closed the road between the roundabouts in both directions and recovery vehicles are now on their way to remove the vehicles."

The road has since reopened.
