THE A354 Weymouth Way has reopened following a car crash.

A two-vehicle collision happened close to the Manor Roundabout near Morrisons this morning at around 9.30am.

It involved a black Renault Clio registered to a man from Weymouth and a grey Fiat Punto registered to a woman from Weymouth.

An ambulance was called to accident and three casualties were treated for minor injuries on the scene.

Authorities closed the road between Manor Roundabout and Chafey's roundabout in both directions as they recovered the vehicles, leading to traffic tailbacks on the surrounding roads.

It remained closed for almost an hour and drivers were urged to find alternative routes and to avoid the area.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "The incident was reported to us at 9.35am by the ambulance service.

"It was a two vehicle road traffic collision, and the injuries appear to not be serious.

"Police units have closed the road between the roundabouts in both directions and recovery vehicles are now on their way to remove the vehicles."

The road has since reopened.

Anyone know anything about the black series 1 BMW which was being recovered from the middle of the flower bed on Manor Roundabout at 0600 this morning?

While I can see that last night's rain might have contributed to that accident, it does seem that the accident count on Dorset's roads has increased massively over the last few weeks - or are just more accidents being reported in The Echo?

It's the standard of driving these days. Manor roundabout is notorious for two things at the moment:-
1) people coming down the Dorchester road deliberately and wilfully taking the wrong lane onto the roundabout, and then not indication their intentions;
2) people being impatient and pulling out onto the roundabout when there really isn't the room to do so.
The police could make a packet it they sat a traffic unit up there for a few days.

Maybe better signs as you as you approach the park ad ride and Morrisons roundabout from Dorchester. A visitor to the town would not have a clue which lane to get into until it is too late.

Nothing like a good bit of stereotyping to apportion guilt!!!!

Mango man then this make's you the top of the list. You probably suffer with little man syndrome as well,because your comment is just like you with the fact that it is non important. I merely added humour which as like your namesake MONG it went right over your head.... Matt wey77 I will add again yes your right, due to people like Mango man having licences and the only place they have ever driven is in Weymouth so come summer time when there is more traffic, the local Mong..aka Mango man can't handle it, due to never driven anywhere else but never mind hopefully he will squashed and de nutted soon. While on the subject Fancyabrew is the closest to the correct answer... the roads are busy,plus lack of signal, mirror and manoeuvre and the lateness of signalling all factors of the accidents of late...... my earlier comment was said before all the moaners AKA Mango man could get in and lay the blame but with Divs like Mango man on site and it's road's its no wonder.... And in relation to the BMW the driver probably was drunk
