Young people and families are being urged to support a new- look centre in their community which has been given a makeover.

Locals are invited to use the new-look Top Club youth centre at Littlemoor, which now also incorporates Bincombe Children’s Centre.

The youth centre, run by Dorset County Council, has been refurbished and given a new social area and kitchen. Space has also been found for Bincombe Children’s Centre to run its services at the club off Louviers Road.

The children’s centre, run by Action for Children on behalf of the county council, moved to the Top Club premises from Bincombe Valley Primary School in April to make way for a new nursery.

It is running a programme of activities over the summer which are free for under-fives.

County councillor for Littlemoor Mark Tewkesbury said: “The Top Club is an excellent facility for young people in Littlemoor and now that the children’s centre is also based there, families in the area can also access a range of services, information and get advice.”

The Top Club is open five evenings a week from 7pm-9pm and gives young people aged 12 to 19 a fun place to go where they also have access to support, information and advice.

Bincombe Children’s Centre provides information, support and advice for families with young children including a health clinic, baby massage, bumps and babies sessions and sing and sign.
