Telephone fraudster
Police have warned residents to be on alert about a telephone scam A woman calling herself Karen leaves messages asking the caller to dial a number beginning 0809.
If you ring this number you will be connected to the Dominican Republic and incur very large charges. Other area codes to be wary of are 0284 and 0876.
If you are contacted call Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
