Miss Weymouth and Carnival Queen Emma Whitbread, 25, with Sophie Watson, 17, and Amber Puckett, 13.
If you’re heading to Weymouth’s carnival why not try using the park and ride?
The service is £3 per vehicle for return bus travel for up to seven passengers and visiters can park all day.
The Dorset County Council run scheme has over 1,000 parking spaces, so there’s plenty of room. Buses will run from 7.30am, with last return services leaving Weymouth at 10.45pm.
The county council say they have enhanced the service for today, running more buses than ever before. Visiters can also now pay via mobile phone.
Cllr Peter Finney, the council’s spokesman for environment and economy, said:
“The park and ride is a cheap and stress free way to travel. It can take the hassle out of finding a parking space leaving you more time to enjoy the events in Weymouth.”
The buses will be dropping off and picking up on Commercial road, due to the closure of the Esplanade.
Just to get us all in the mood here's some pictures from previous years.
Starting at 10am with the crowning of Carnival Queen Emma Whitbread, the day will see a host of activities including: beach sports and activities, live music and entertainment will be among the events for families to enjoy.
There will be a food village along the harbourside and visitors can also see the BBC’s World War One at Home exhibition at the Pavilion. The TS Pelican is also available to visit at the quayside.
And of course the Red Arrows will be sailing over head at 5.30pm.
Then at 6.30pm oit will be the grand procession along the Esplanade.
People should be aware the seafront and procession route to Lodmoor will be closed to traffic from 5.15pm to 8.30pm.
The whole day is rounded off with fireworks at 9.30pm.
Good morning and welcome to the biggest and best Carnival coverage!
And we want you to get involved. Send us your pictures and videos from the day! Tweet us @Dorsetecho or email email@example.com.
Our teams will be out capturing all the events as they happen, so make sure you give them a wave.
Bring on the party!
