ANOTHER large rock fall has taken place on a West Dorset beach.
Yesterday afternoon Portland Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Weymouth was called by the beach attendant at Charmouth, who reported a further recent large rock fall between Evans Cliff and Cains Folly.
Lyme Regis coastguard rescue officers were sent to investigate, but nothing untoward was found. Dorset County Council was informed.
Earlier in the afternoon, the skipper of the 40 foot yacht St David’s Light called Portland Coastguard to say they had problems with their propeller.
The boat, with three adults and a child on board, was anchored in Lulworth Cove.
A local RIB boat went to help the stricken vessel out of the Cove and she returned to Portland Marina under sail to arrange repairs, while Portland Coastguard maintained a radio watch.
