A CAR caused traffic delays after breaking down on Boot Hill in Weymouth.

A silver Hyundai, registered to a man from Mid Glamorgan, was partially blocking the A354 Rodwell Road on Friday.

The car broke down at around 1pm near Franchise Street and Wyke Road.

A large amount of oil spilled onto the road which had to be cleared up.

The spillage was quickly removed and the car has since been recovered.

Nice to know that cars are now so reliable that a breakdown is considered such a rarity that it's newsworthy.

PS the Olimpics did nothing for Weymouth.

This would never have happened if the fairy lights were still here.
