COASTGUARDS were called to investigate a report of a dead dolphin on the beach at Chiswell.
Coastguard rescue officers from Portland Bill were called at just after 8am yesterday, Friday, August 22, and took details to pass to the National History Museum and Receiver of Wreck for removal.
Later, an elderly woman was treated for a suspected broken ankle.
The 72-year-old fell at Winspit, east of St Alban’s Head, and was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment just after 4pm.
In Poole, a man was given safety advice by coastguards after a woman reported her husband and son were overdue.
The man and his six-year-old son had set out from Sandbanks in a RIB and were due to arrive at Poole Harbour but thevessel broke down.
The Poole lifeguard vessel found the RIB near the East Looe Buoy just before 10.30pm last night and towed it back to Salterns Marina.
Poole coastguards gave the man safety advice regarding having a means of communication in an emergency.
