A MOTHER has posted a heartfelt online plea in a search for two teddy bears that were lost at Weymouth train station.

Lorri Bee and her four-year-old daughter Chantelle lost the two teddies, named Bunny and Buttercup, on Saturday, August 23, at around 6.15pm.

Lorri is now appealing to Dorset Echo readers to keep an eye out for the cuddly toys.

After missing their train home to search for the sentimental toys, Lorri posted a heartfelt plea for their return on Facebook, which was shared more than 1,000 times in 24 hours.

The message has also been posted and shared on Twitter.

Lorri said: “We had popped to the ladies in the train station and she put the teddies on the radiator while she was drying her hands.”

“We decided to go for a gentle stroll up to the sea front while we waited for our train and then we realised neither of us had them and we rushed back but they were gone.

“She was absolutely distraught. We only had a couple of minutes before our train was leaving but I wasn’t going to get on until we’d searched every inch of the station for them.

“Chantelle has had the bunny since the day she was born and both of the teddies are like part of the family. They go everywhere with us and they hold a lot of memories.”

Lorri, who lives in Taunton, is hoping the two cuddly companions will be found and make a safe return before Chantelle starts school next week.

“She’s had the teddies at every milestone in her life so far, so it would be brilliant to get them back before she starts school.” Lorri said.

“The response I’ve got from people online is completely overwhelming. I never expected anything like this - it’s incredible.

“Chantelle is heartbroken without them. Bunny and Buttercup have been such great companions for her - she includes them in everything she does. I would love to see them returned.”

A spokeswoman for South West Trains-Network Rail Alliance said: “We were sorry to hear about Bunny and Buttercup and we are keeping our fingers crossed that they can be found.”
