Fire crews rescue cat

First published in News

Firefighters in Weymouth were called to rescue a cat on Monday evening at around 10pm.

A crew of firefighters arrived to find Mimi the Cat had squeezed through the facia boards on a property in Weymouth to shelter from the rain and the gap had closed behind her, trapping her inside.

Firefighters climbed up to rescue her using a triple extension ladder and cut away a small part of the plastic facia to release her unharmed. This then allowed her to make her own way down to get back to her owner.

I thought we lived in an open and democratic society, with free speech as a bonus.
Apparently not....
When I last looked at this story there were 6 comments, all have been removed.
None of the previous posts were defamatory, or offensive.
One therefore must question the point of the Comments feature, if it cannot be relied upon to be a true reflection of the contributors.
If a post is deemed to be offensive, then it should have its contents removed, with a note to that effect. At least people can then see who publishes such comments, even if the actual text has been removed!
