Weymouth Crematorium will host its annual Service of Remembrance on Sunday September 7.

The service offers the opportunity for anyone to remember a friend, colleague or loved one irrespective of where or when previous funerals took place.

The service will start at 2pm and be taken by Mr Leslie Scrase.

There will be hymns, poems and readings and a local choir. There will also be the opportunity to light a candle in memory of a loved one.

Cllr Francis Drake, Brief Holder for Social Inclusion at Weymouth & Portland Borough Council, said: “Anyone from all faiths and beliefs are welcome to attend to reflect and remember loved ones that have sadly passed on.

“People can also take the opportunity to walk in the grounds of the crematorium and enjoy the rose garden in a peaceful atmosphere of collective remembrance.”

It is now the third year that Weymouth Crematorium has held its Service of Remembrance.
