A DORSET community group needs your help to get a cash boost.

People First Dorset has been shortlisted for the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014.

The group’s Friendship Club could receive up to £3,000. The public decide by voting as to who receives the most funding.

The group is the Charity of the Year for Weymouth and Portland Mayor Kate Wheller and recently helped to spruce up the garden of a pub in Dorchester.

Coordinator Laura Kerr urged the public to help them out by voting.

She said: “Please vote for us and encourage your friends, family and colleagues to do so.

“It will greatly help us continue to support adults with learning disabilities in the community who are socially isolated. Votes can be cast online, in participating Lloyds Bank branches, by text and by Twitter from now until October 10.”

People can go into the Dorchester, Portland or Weymouth branches of the bank and cast their vote – you do not need to be a customer.

Voting can be done online via communityfund.lloydsbank.com and searching for People First Dorset or by texting VOTE VZZ to 61119.
