MORE homes are starting to receive new bins ready for the Recycle for Dorset collection service.

Householders are reminded not to start using their new bins until after the last collection of their current service.

New containers put out before the new service starts the week beginning October 13 will not be emptied.

The Dorset Waste Partnership’s contractor is delivering new containers to 50,000 households in Weymouth and Portland and part of West Dorset including Abbotsbury, Chickerell, Maiden Newton and Sherborne.

Deliveries started this week on Portland and will then move onto Weymouth.

The DWP said if any households in the West Dorset area have not received all of their containers or their information pack, they should report it using the ‘Report a delivery problem’ online form at dorsetforyou.com/recyclefordorset Phones lines are currently very busy so residents should report any problems online if they can. Residents who cannot go online can call 01305 221040.

Containers should arrive on the same day but some at different times of day. An information pack is posted through the letterbox and a new collection calendar will be sent by post shortly. Response teams are on the ground to follow up any missed or incomplete deliveries.

Smaller containers such as the brown food waste bins, kitchen caddies or replacement recycling boxes can be collected from the following locations: South Walks House, Dorchester, County Hall, Dorchester, Chickerell Town Council, Sherborne Town Council
