NEW volunteers have a chance to help take Weymouth Carnival forward.
The charity which runs the event, Weymouth Carnival and Event Club, is holding its AGM on Sunday, September 28 where existing committee members will stand down and new officers elected.
Positions of chairman, treasurer and secretary will be sought, as well as other committee members and charity trustees.
Volunteers give up their time to help organise Weymouth Carnival which as well as giving families a great day out, raises money for good causes.
This year’s event was another success with appearances from the Red Arrows, entertainment on the beach and seafront, and a colourful grand parade.
The committee will soon begin work to organise next year’s carnival, and the election of committee members gives people a chance to be on board and help co-ordinate Weymouth’s biggest day of the year.
The AGM will be held at the Weymouth Community Safety Centre in Radipole Lane at 2.30pm on Sunday, September 28. If you are interested send an email to 2005keiran@tiscali.co.uk
