HAVE your say on a new speed restriction proposed for Westham.

Residents are being asked to share their ideas and thoughts on 20mph proposals for the area.

Dorset County Council is holding two community events to find out from residents where they think the traffic problems are, and what they think about lowering the speed limit in the area.

The first will be on Thursday from 2.30pm-7pm at St Pauls Church Hall on Abbotsbury Road, and the second is on Thursday October 2 from 2.30pm-7pm at the Community Safety Centre on Radipole Lane.

David Harris, county councillor for Westham, said: "We feel Westham is suitable for an extension of the 20mph speed limit because of the vulnerable mix of elderly and young pedestrians with vehicles.

“We are a busy community with two schools as well as other community facilities, and I’m sure there are particular roads where people don’t feel as safe as they could.

"We need to hear from residents to find out if they want more 20mph restrictions and, if so, where they think they should be."
