WYKE Regis couple Brian and Yvonne Collins celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on September 12.
The pair married in Portsmouth and celebrated their 50th anniversary with an afternoon reception at the Portland Heights Hotel with family and close friends, which included one of their original bridesmaids. Guests travelled from Cornwall, Surrey, Essex, Portsmouth and Weymouth to attend the day.
A family friend made the couple’s celebration cake and wedding and family photos were on display. Donations for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance were requested instead of gifts and £200 was raised. Mr and Mrs Collins said the secret to a long marriage is holding hands, being able to talk to each other and never going to sleep on an argument.
