POLICE are hunting a woman who was seen to take £50 cash from a store belonging to another customer.
Officers in Bridport have released this image of the woman they want to speak to, who took the cash from WM Morrison on West Bay Road on Thursday, August 14 at around 12pm.
A local woman in her 70s went to the self-serve checkout to buy her goods and requested £50 cash back, however, she forgot to take the money and left the store leaving the cash behind at the till. The next customer, a woman, is seen to take the money and leave the store without making any attempt to hand it to a member of staff.
Police Constable Scott McGregor, of Bridport police, said: “Following enquiries, I am now able to release a CCTV image of the woman who is suspected of taking the money.
“I would urge the woman pictured – and anyone who recognises her – to call Dorset Police, in confidence, as soon as possible.
“I am also appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police.”
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is asked to call Dorset Police on 101.
