A MAN has been arrested in connection with an incident in Dorchester that police say saw several people assaulted.

The incident took place in Trinity Street between 8.20pm and 8.30pm on Monday.

Inspector Steve Marsh of Dorchester Police said that ‘a number of people’ were assaulted in the altercation and police made an arrest when they arrived on the scene.

He said: “Police were called and a male was arrested.

“This local male is currently on police bail whilst enquiries continue.

“Police have contacted a number of witnesses but if anyone saw the incident they are asked to contact Dorset Police.”

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Dorchester Police Station on 101.
