STAFF at Preston Pre-School in Weymouth would like to say thank you to parents after emergency school closures.
The pre-school was suddenly closed for a number of days when emergency gas work had to be carried out in Preston after water had seeped into the gas network.
Jo Withers, manager at the pre-school said: “I want to say a huge thank you to all of our parents for coping with our unexpected pre-school closure and also to Weymouth Swimming Pool.
“The Everyone Active team at Weymouth Swimming Pool, in true community spirit, came to our aid and offered us use of a room so that we could hold a stay and play session for the children who had nowhere else to go.
“They also gave us vouchers for a free swim for each child which all of the parents and pre-school team were very grateful to receive.
“We are having to work extra hard now as we have one week less to learn our sing and sign nativity so that it is ready for all the parents to come and watch over Christmas.”
