ORGANISERS are looking to build on past success as they prepare for Dorchester Beerex 2015.

Glasses will be raised in February for the 27th popular beer festival, which showcases ales from around the country.

Tickets don’t go on sale until January 1, but are sure to sell out fast. Funds raised will help pay for a trip for disadvantaged children.

Organisers, made up of members from the West Dorset Campaign for Real Ale and Dorchester Round Table, are pleased to announce that Bridport brewer Palmers will be the main sponsor.

Palmers has more than 200 years of brewing heritage under its belt and is looking forward to being part of the event.

Managing Director Cleeves Palmer said: “Palmers Brewery is very pleased to sponsor the extremely popular Dorchester Beerex for 2015.

“This event raises the profile of traditional ale and raises a huge amount of money for important local good causes.

“My thanks go to all those who work so hard in creating such a successful and enjoyable festival.”

Dorchester Beerex 2015 will be taking place on Friday, February 6 and Saturday, February 7 at the Corn Exchange.

This year’s committee chairman Rick Dowell said: “It is a pleasure working with such a dedicated team who are currently working hard to ensure Beerex 2015 builds upon the success of the previous 26 festivals.

“We are looking forward to a new partnership with Palmers as our new main sponsor together with our regular and new barrel sponsors.

“Beerex has become a premier event in Dorchester where we can showcase beers from all over the British Isles as well as an extensive selection of contemporary ciders.”

This year organisers are planning to use funds raised to give disadvantaged children a special day out. The committee is looking for local companies to help by sponsoring a barrel.
