A DORSET charity is offering help to disabled adults claiming Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
The Advice Team at Diverse Abilities Plus, which supports children and adults with physical and learning disabilities, is concerned that many people with a disability or long-term illness are still not aware that the PIP has replaced Disability Living Allowance.
People may be eligible if they are unable, or less able, to look after themselves and do tasks like washing, cooking and managing money.
If the criteria are met, PIP benefit can be claimed regardless of income or savings as it is not means-tested. Recipients can be earning and still claim, but must be aged 16 to 65.
