A PAIR of Weymouth College stonemasonry apprentices will put their skills to the test against competitors from across the country after being chosen as finalists for a national construction competition.

Jordan Vincent, 22, from Weymouth, and Archie Stoke-Faiers, 19, from Lyme Regis, were named in the top three stonemasons of the SkillBuild regional heats in Northampton, and will now compete in the SkillBuild 2014 finals at Birmingham’s NEC this month.

Archie said he was really pleased to be going through to the finals and hoped he would do well.

He and Jordan will face stiff competition from the top 10 stonemasonry trainees from Blackburn, Bristol and Reading.
