ROLLING storm coverage saw the Dorset Echo website’s views soar this year.

It’s been another record-breaking year for dorsetecho.co.uk.

We brought you live coverage and updates as floods hit the county in January and February.

In January, our weather blog hit more than 108,000 page views and was one of the top stories across Newsquest’s titles.

We went A-list with our story about how Little Mix singer and former Weymouth schoolgirl Perrie Edwards and her boyfriend, One Direction’s Zayn Malik, celebrated New Year in the town.

The pop couple have popped up a couple of times in the Echo’s ‘Most read’ list since. In May we revealed how Zayn had bought a house in Dorset. And this month we told how they’d visited a Weymouth cafe for a cuppa.

Our readers helped locate a missing 11-year-old after he went missing in the Ringstead Bay area in September.

Thousands of you shared the story online and a homeowner decided to check his garden, where he found the boy, after reading the Echo story.

And readers were urged to check their lottery tickets after rumours of a big win ran wild on Portland.

The story was a popular hit on our website- although sadly a winner never came forward.
