DORSET Fire and Rescue Service was called to two separate incidents in West Dorset yesterday evening.
Firefighters were called to a chimney fire at Nettlecombe Farm, Cheselbourne, at 10.53pm last night, and crews from Bere Regis used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
Crews also used a thermal imaging camera to check the fire had not spread, and left the incident just before 1am.
The service also attended a property in Charmouth after a resident reported a smell of burning.
Firefighters were called to the incident at a property on The Street in Charmouth, after the resident had been alerted by a smoke alarm in the property and reported he could smell burning from a night storage heater.
Two crews from Lyme Regis and Bridport attended, and used a thermal imaging camera to check for fire spread and isolate the storage heater. Firefighters left the incident just after 9pm.
