YOUNGSTERS at a village school embarked in a spot of robot wars.
Children at Sticklands Primary School in Evershot were given the opportunity to make and programme their own robots as part of the scheme by government organisation Aimhigher.
Aimhigher hopes to encourage more people to go into further education and the children from Sticklands will be monitored over the next few years to see if their day working with robots is enough to persuade them to pursue a career in engineering.
Brian Duke, of Aimhigher, said: "The children have been making and programming robots to carry out a range of tasks.
"They seemed to be really enjoying themselves.
"We will be following up what the children have done today over the next few years to see if they have now decided to study engineering at a higher level."
