Aberdeen University is planning to build a new GBP55.5m library on campus.

The "Library for our Sixth Century" will spearhead the next phase of the university's 10-year GBP228m development programme.

The Queen Mother Library was built to accommodate 5000 students and the new library will provide facilities for the current 13,500 student community. It will also house its historic collection of more than a 250,000 ancient books and manuscripts.
