A MAN has died in a diving accident in the Firth of Clyde. Mr John
Ferguson, 46, of Bowling Green Road, Scotstoun, was operating around a
wreck in about 65 metres of water half a mile from Wemyss Bay pier. When
he failed to surface, the coastguard and a Navy helicopter from HMS
Gannet at Prestwick carried out a search. He was brought to the surface
by other divers and taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital, where he was
found to be dead on arrival.
