THE jackpot prize in the national lottery will be #1m, Sports Minister

Robert Key revealed yesterday. But how often the bumper pay-out will

take place or whether additional smaller prizes will be available have

not been decided yet. Mr Key told the Commons he hoped legislation would

be introduced ''very soon'' to enable the lottery to be operational by

the end of 1994. A Heritage Department department spokesman said that

the Bill was expected to be published before Christmas.
