POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an assault at a Dorset train station.
The British Transport Police are currently investigating the incident which happened on Saturday evening. (4)
Police are appealing for train users who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with them. Dorset Police said the incident appeared to be an assault.
Purbeck Police posted an appeal for information on their Facebook page. It said: “Wareham officers are appealing for witnesses to an incident at Wareham railway station which occurred at approximately 5.50pm on Saturday, April 4.
“A male received serious injuries as a result of this incident and police believe it may have been witnessed by people boarding the London-bound 5.53pm train.”
It added: “If you saw anything or know anything about this incident, please contact PC Cook at Wareham Police Station quoting crime number C:15:D:014239.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should call 101.
