A DORSET charity has received a grant of £10,000 for a new website.

The Dorset Community Foundation which raises funds to support those most in need across the county has received the grant from Awards for All.

Ashley Rowlands, chair at the foundation, said: "The current website is over six years old. The design and the functionality are now outdated and affect the overall user experience. The grant will allow  us to create a responsive website, which can be viewed on mobile devices and iPads."

Since its inception in 2000 the foundation has distributed more than £10million in grants to local individuals, charities and community groups.

The foundation has also set up the Dorset Fund which supports young people in education or training, isolated older people and also people with mental health issues through arts projects.
