A FUN-FILLED village fête is coming to Charminster this weekend.

The annual community celebration is being held in the gardens of Charminster House from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday (June 6) with something for everyone on offer.

Entrance costs just £1 for adults with no charge for accompanied children and there will be a host of attractions and stalls including a blacksmith display, dog show, children's activities, a bouncy castle and live music.

There will also be a beer tent, hog roast, WI teas, ice creams, chicken biryani and bhajis and ginger beer on offer.

Stalls will be selling books, cakes, bric-a-brac, plants, jams and preserves, china and glass, accessories and more while there will also be a tombola, a grand draw and a display of photography competition entries.

With East Hill closed to traffic during reconstruction work on the river bridge, organisers say there is regrettably no disabled parking available.

There is parking available in a field off North Street, with pedestrian access only across a foot bridge at the bottom of East Hill to the fête location.
